The Time to Shine Project
"Last year I set up a charity with a wonderful friend, Alison Cooper, which aims to give performance opportunities to vulnerable people and groups within our community. We both believe passionately that music should be a right for everyone, though sometimes people need a little extra encouragement. With the Time to Shine Project, it's so great watching the transition from nervous beginner to star performer and knowing that this new-found confidence will help with every aspect of their future lives."
The mental and physical health benefits of having music in our lives, and using it for personal growth, have been well documented over the years and we believe that working towards a final performance is not only the ultimate hurdle but also the ultimate achievement. "I am a passionate advocate of animal welfare and a few years ago I began volunteering at my local Blue Cross Animal Rehoming Centre in Northiam, East Sussex. The staff there are truly inspiring, devoting their lives to helping stray and unwanted pets find the homes they deserve. Over the years I have been a dog walker and an event planner, I have spent countless hours creating videos of pets needing new homes and I have trained to become a volunteer education speaker for this wonderful charity. Last year I adopted a beautiful German Shepherd x Collie from Blue Cross. Cassie and I take a walk down to the beach every morning; the perfect start to any day."
Blue Cross is a charity dedicated to helping sick, abandonded and unwanted pets since 1897. In 1906 they opened their first animal hospital in Victoria, London (thought to be the first of its kind) and since that day it has never closed its doors. To find out more about Blue Cross - including information on their education programme - please go directly to their website www.bluecross.org.uk.

It is important to me that my community choirs remain part of the community. For that reason all of our public performances aim to raise money for local organisations and charities. If you are running an event near to one of my choirs and are interested in our services then I would love to hear from you. Please email the appropriate address below:
